Tasting Notes
Nose: Wafts of earthy Islay peat and coastal brine mingle with antique polished oak, dried golden raisins, and rich honeycomb.
Palate: Viscous and textural on the tongue, delivering signature maritime smoke, salted toffee, candied lemon peel, and rich malted barley.
Finish: Medium-long and warming, slowly fading with lingering campfire embers, beeswax, and a subtle touch of dried herbal spice.
About the Distillery
Founded in 1861 by James Logan Mackie and formally established under the White Horse name by Peter Mackie in 1890, White Horse Distillers Ltd. became one of Scotland's most celebrated blending houses. Renowned for its heavy reliance on Islay single malt from Lagavulin alongside malts from Craigellachie and Glen Elgin, the blend earned a Royal Warrant under the British monarchy and achieved worldwide acclaim for its distinctive smoky character.
