John Walker & Sons
Johnnie Walker Pure Malt 15 Year Old (1990's) 86 Proof 1000ml
Before the Green Label moniker became a permanent fixture, this rare late-1990s Pure Malt release showcased John Walker & Sons' mastery of blending exclusively single malts with zero grain whisky added. Aged a full 15 years, it harmonizes Highland richness, Speyside fruit, and Island brine into a remarkably complex, balanced pour. A discontinued vintage bottling, it remains a coveted milestone for serious Scotch collectors and discerning malt enthusiasts alike.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromatic heather honey and crisp orchard fruits give way to soft beeswax, dried apricots, polished antique oak, and a subtle veil of maritime peat smoke.
Palate: Richly textured and oily, opening with spiced poached pear, rich malted barley, and creamy vanilla, balanced by coastal sea salt, cracked black pepper, and earthy Highland heather.
Finish: Long, warming, and elegant, tapering off with lingering oak tannins, subtle campfire smoke, candied orange peel, and gentle cedar spice.
