Dumped by hand on May 8, 1986, this museum-grade bottle represents one of the earliest vintages of the world's first commercial single barrel bourbon. Pulled directly from Rick No. 26 in the famed Warehouse H, it encapsulates the celebrated 'dusty' profile of 1980s distillation with dense butterscotch, antique oak, and pipe tobacco notes. A benchmark acquisition for serious collectors, this pour offers an authentic taste of bourbon history at its turning point.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Heady antique oak, dusty cellar funk, rich butterscotch, stewed stone fruits, candied orange peel, and dried tobacco leaf.
Palate: Viscous and decadent with layers of dark caramel, leather, caramelized figs, clove, and toasted pecans balanced by gentle rye spice.
Finish: Exceptionally long and warming, lingering on sweet vanilla bean, mellow mint, polished cedar, and gentle, seasoned oak tannins.
