Our award-winning Bluegrass Bitters™ Smoky Simple Syrup is our most unique product as it puts the smoke in the drink, not just around the glass. 

Starting with 100% turbinado sugar to provide a complex sweetness, we then add a natural oak infusion for a subtle smoke.  The smoke is present on the nose as soon as you open the bottle, but that intensity is balanced with complex sweetness that can only come from turbinado sugar. Our Smoky Simple Syrup does more than make the bourbon sweet; it enhances the caramel and butterscotch notes that are already present in the bourbon.  

This syrup works well in traditional cocktails like Old Fashioneds, it also goes well in flavor-forward drinks like bourbon lemonade. We recommend using 1/4 to 1/2 oz in place of sugar or simple syrup when making an Old Fashioned.

Our Smoky Simple Syrup pairs well with an earthier bourbon or a traditional rye.  This flavor also complements any of our bitters, including our 5-Spice Orange Bitters. Black Walnut Bitters, or Dark Cherry Bitters.
