Tasting Notes
Nose: A captivating symphony of dark cherry and vanilla bean, interwoven with the deep, sweet char of oak. Hints of spiced orange peel emerge, along with a subtle, earthy tobacco leaf and a whisper of roasted nuts. The extended secondary aging brings forward a richness reminiscent of caramelized sugar and dried dates.
Palate: A viscous and coating entry, delivering an immediate rush of dark fruit compote – blackberry, fig, and more concentrated cherry. This is quickly followed by an explosion of baking spices: cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg, integrated perfectly with sweet caramel and a profound oak influence that doesn't overwhelm but rather provides structure. Subtle notes of cocoa and espresso bean peek through, showcasing the deepened character from the extra-long finish.
Finish: Long, warm, and exceptionally satisfying. The sweet spice and dark fruit linger, gradually fading into a mellow, velvety oak and a pleasant, lingering warmth. A touch of leathery complexity and a whisper of dark chocolate provide a sophisticated and memorable close.
