Tasting Notes

Nose: The nose presents an extraordinary complexity, immediately showcasing deep notes of dried fruits like apricot, fig, and prune, alongside rich candied orange peel. A sophisticated interplay of old leather, cigar box, and precious woods, especially sandalwood and cedar, emerges. Subtle hints of spice, including nutmeg and cinnamon, are beautifully woven with delicate floral undertones of jasmine and honeysuckle, all underlined by a profound rancio typical of very old cognacs.

Palate: On the palate, this is an opulent and velvety experience. The initial impression is of honeyed sweetness balanced by vibrant citrus zest and dark chocolate. Layers of complex rancio develop, revealing mushroom, forest floor, and aged tobacco. The fruit notes intensify to stewed plums and caramelized peaches, gracefully mingling with roasted nuts (almond, hazelnut) and an ethereal hint of saffron and black pepper. The texture is incredibly smooth and round, coating the mouth with a luxurious warmth.

Finish: The finish is exceptionally long and evolving, a true testament to its age and pedigree. It fades gracefully through waves of persistent fruit and spice, leaving behind notes of vanilla bean, old oak, and a lingering floral perfume. A satisfying warmth persists, inviting contemplation, with a final whisper of dark cocoa and sweet tobacco that seems to last indefinitely.
