Tasting Notes
Nose: A sophisticated and inviting bouquet, showcasing dried dark fruits like figs and dates, intertwined with rich caramel, old leather, and a delicate waft of seasoned oak. Subtle baking spices emerge, including clove, nutmeg, and a hint of cinnamon. There’s an underlying sweetness of vanilla bean and a distant echo of floral honeysuckle.
Palate: The palate is surprisingly rich and velvety, coating the mouth with a complex interplay of flavors. Initial sweetness of treacle and brown sugar gives way to a vibrant burst of rye spice, black pepper, and toasted almond. The mature oak is prominent but well-integrated, offering notes of antique furniture and a pleasant dryness. Hints of dark chocolate, maraschino cherry, and a whisper of tobacco leaf further deepen the experience.
Finish: A long, evolving, and exceptionally smooth finish. The oak lingers elegantly, leaving behind a warm, slightly tannic embrace, reminiscent of a well-aged cigar box. Sweetness recedes gracefully, replaced by a persistent warmth of dried spices and a final, satisfying note of dark coffee and charred vanilla. Very little burn, just a comforting, enduring glow.
