Tasting Notes
Nose: A delicate and inviting aroma, opening with classic bourbon notes of sweet caramel and vanilla bean. Subtle hints of dried orange peel and toasted oak emerge, balanced by a faint whisper of honeysuckle and a touch of baking spice like nutmeg. The lower proof allows for a gentle exploration of the nuances without an overpowering alcohol burn.
Palate: The entry is soft and remarkably smooth, a testament to its 80 proof. Sweet corn and honey lead the way, quickly followed by a delightful interplay of crème brûlée and butterscotch. A delicate fruitiness, reminiscent of dried apricots and ripe apple, develops mid-palate. The oak influence is well-integrated, providing a gentle tannic structure without bitterness, alongside a touch of cinnamon and allspice.
Finish: A clean, medium-length finish that is surprisingly lingering for its proof. Sweetness gracefully fades, leaving behind a warm, subtle embrace of toasted oak, a hint of dark chocolate, and a lingering echo of vanilla and baking spices. Very approachable and satisfying.
