Underlying vanilla bean and a touch of baking spice – cinnamon and nutmeg – provide a warm, inviting foundation. As it opens, a subtle leather note emerges, hinting at its age.

Palate: A viscous and coating entry, immediately showcasing its 109.2 proof with a delightful warmth rather than harshness. The palate explodes with sweet, dark fruit flavors—dried apricots, plum, and blackcurrant—balanced by robust oak tannins. Honeyed sweetness gives way to a complex interplay of butterscotch, roasted nuts, and a subtle espresso bitterness. A sustained note of pipe tobacco weaves through the mid-palate, testament to its prolonged barrel maturation.

Finish: Long, lingering, and exceptionally satisfying. The warmth persists, leaving behind a delightful residue of dark chocolate, spicy oak, and a faint whisper of smoke. The fruit and caramel notes slowly fade, giving way to a pleasant dryness with echoes of leather and vanilla bean, inviting another sip.

https://takeyourpickliquors.com/products/traverse-city-whiskey-co-signature-edition-traverse-city-whiskey-co-barrel-proof-109-2-proof-1
