Subtle hints of dried fruit, especially apricot and fig, emerge alongside baking spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. A whisper of pipe tobacco and leather adds depth, characteristic of well-aged bourbon.

Palate: Creamy and rich on the entry, coating the palate with a luxurious texture. Sweet notes of toffee, dark honey, and maple syrup are perfectly balanced by a spicy kick of black pepper and ginger. The oak influence is gracefully integrated, presenting as dried wood and a touch of roasted nuts, rather than overwhelming tannin. Fruity undertones of cherry and orange peel weave through the mid-palate, culminating in a complex, full-bodied experience.

Finish: Long, warm, and lingering, with a delightful interplay of sweet and spicy elements. The vanilla and caramel persist, joined by a gentle warmth of oak spice and a hint of dark chocolate. A pleasant, slightly drying sensation leaves the palate refreshed, beckoning another sip. The overall impression is one of elegant maturity and balance.

https://takeyourpickliquors.com/products/old-rip-van-winkle-distillery-van-winkle-special-reserve-12-years-old-lot-b-90-4-proof
