Subtler undertones of dried apricot and a whisper of baking spice, like nutmeg and cinnamon, emerge with a second sniff. The lower proof keeps the alcohol vapor well-integrated.

Palate: The palate is surprisingly smooth and approachable, a testament to its 8-year maturation and 80 proof. Initial warmth delivers a creamy vanilla and butterscotch sweetness, swiftly followed by a soft, nutty character – perhaps roasted pecans. A delicate spiciness unfolds mid-palate, marrying seamlessly with hints of dried fruit and a touch of leather, suggesting its age. The mouthfeel is light-to-medium, never overwhelming.

Finish: A clean, medium-length finish that lingers pleasantly with a soft oak presence and residual sweetness. A fleeting echo of dried fruit and a faint, peppery note provide a satisfying conclusion. It leaves the palate refreshed and ready for another sip without any harshness.

https://takeyourpickliquors.com/products/old-charter-kentucky-straight-bourbon-whiskey-80-proof-1-75-liter
