Hints of baking spice – cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of clove – mingle with a subtle underlying sweetness of vanilla bean and a distant echo of pipe tobacco.

Palate: A robust and viscous entry, coating the mouth with a symphony of flavors. Sweet caramel and butterscotch lead, but are swiftly balanced by a prominent oak presence that speaks to its 11-year age. Dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and a delightful pepper spice develop mid-palate, giving way to complex layers of tobacco leaf, leather, and a fruit compote richness (think cherry and plum). The high proof is well-integrated, providing warmth without harshness.

Finish: Long, lingering, and exceptionally satisfying. The oak and spices persist, gracefully fading into sweet vanilla and a pleasant, dry char. A delicate warmth remains, inviting another sip, concluding with subtle notes of leather and a nuanced tobacco leaf that leaves a lasting impression.

https://takeyourpickliquors.com/products/old-carter-whiskey-co-old-carter-straight-bourbon-whiskey-barrel-strength-110-4-proof-1
