A subtle undercurrent of black licorice or anise may also be present, alongside a touch of oak char from the rum’s aging.

Palate: A surprisingly smooth arrival, quickly expanding into a rich, sweet, and spicy explosion. The initial sweetness is reminiscent of caramel candy and dark chocolate. This is swiftly followed by a warming blend of ginger, cinnamon, and allspice, with a notable presence of vanilla extract. The 'natural flavors' likely contribute to a distinct, slightly artificial, cherry or cola-like note that lingers mid-palate, somewhat masking the underlying rum character. Despite the proof, it drinks softer than expected due to the flavor additions.

Finish: Medium-long and sweet, with the spiced notes persisting. A pleasant warmth spreads across the palate, ending with lingering notes of vanilla, toasted sugar, and a touch of the characteristic Kraken licorice or anise. The caramel coloring and sweeteners ensure a very smooth, almost syrupy, final impression.
