Given its age, a gentle oak presence emerges, offering whispers of vanilla, dried apricot, and a faint saline quality, characteristic of older Scotch. The overall impression is one of sophistication and understated elegance.

Palate: A surprisingly smooth and soft entry, coating the palate with a sweetness reminiscent of butterscotch and crème brûlée. This is quickly followed by a gentle surge of malted barley, hints of stewed apple, and a touch of nutmeg. The peat, though subtle, provides a grounding earthy counterpoint, balanced by a faint citrus zest and a creamy mouthfeel derived from extended barrel aging. The 86 proof ensures a pleasant warmth without overpowering the nuanced flavors.

Finish: Medium in length, evolving gracefully from sweet to a drier, more savory conclusion. Lingering notes of dried fruit (raisins, figs), a faint nutty quality, and a delicate echo of the initial peat smoke. A whisper of dark chocolate and a clean, slightly spicy oak dryness leave a memorable and refined impression.
