Underlying notes of dried dark fruit, particularly fig and cherry, emerge, underscored by a subtle leathery earthiness and a faint wisp of charred marshmallow.

Palate: A powerful and full-bodied entry that immediately presents a wave of sticky toffee pudding, dark chocolate, and a robust, spicy oak influence. The high proof delivers a pleasant warmth, not a burn, highlighting flavors of candied orange peel, butterscotch, and black pepper. A rich sweetness is balanced by a dry, tannic grip from the barrel, creating a complex interplay of sweet and savory notes.

Finish: Long, lingering, and undeniably warm, the finish evolves with persistent notes of sweet tobacco, roasted nuts, and vanilla bean. The oak tannins gradually fade, leaving a pleasant peppery tingle and a lasting impression of dark fruit and caramelized sugar. It’s a dry yet satisfying conclusion, inviting another sip.

https://takeyourpickliquors.com/products/2026-old-forester-single-barrel-barrel-strength-jack-rose-dc-2026-130-8-proof-750ml
