This remarkably mature Batch №00001, hand-bottled as №00156, delivers an exceptionally profound and layered sipping experience, reflecting its extended slumber in American oak.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A sophisticated bouquet of deep, aged oak, sweet caramel, and vanilla bean, punctuated by subtle hints of dried cherry, toasted nuts, and a delicate floral spice. The high proof is present but well-integrated, hinting at its robust character.

Palate: The entry is rich and full-bodied, delivering an initial wave of dark stone fruits – plum and fig – mingling with dense toffee and baking spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Layers of charred oak, dark chocolate, and a touch of leather emerge, balanced by a creamy texture and a faint, complex sweetness that avoids being cloying. The 125 proof provides warmth without overwhelming the intricate flavors.

Finish: Long, lingering, and exceptionally smooth for its proof. It evolves with notes of espresso, black pepper, and persistent sweet oak. A satisfying warmth spreads through the chest, leaving a pleasant, dry, and slightly tannic sensation with echoes of marzipan and tobacco.
