Underlying notes of vanilla bean, caramel, and toasted oak emerge, balanced by a subtle, almost floral sweetness from the Curacao cask, suggesting candied orange peel and a touch of honey.

Palate: The palate delivers a delightful interplay of sweet and spicy. Initial notes of rich caramel and dark honey are swiftly followed by a vibrant surge of orange liqueur, reminiscent of a Grand Marnier. The rye character shines through with peppery spice, baking spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, and a pronounced herbal quality. A luxurious, oily mouthfeel coats the tongue, with oak tannins providing structure without overwhelming. Hints of dried fruit and marzipan add further complexity.

Finish: The finish is long, warm, and evolving. It lingers with persistent sweet orange peel and a gentle warmth from the rye spice, fading into notes of dark chocolate, bitter orange, and a touch of roasted coffee. The Curacao influence provides a pleasant, slightly dry and complex aftertaste that invites another sip, with a subtle herbal echo at the very end.

https://takeyourpickliquors.com/products/2014-willett-xcf-exploratory-cask-finish-version-1-0-103-4-proof-750ml
